Frame of Reference is an independent film production company focused on developing and producing bold, original, and visually distinctive films. Founded in 2017 by filmmakers Kellen Gibbs and Rochel Goldsmith, the company began with the acclaimed short film The Moment I Was Alone, selected for the Screen Actors Guild Short Film Showcase and acquired by Legendary Digital. Frame of Reference has since produced two feature films, including Lost in Tomorrow, distributed by Vision Films, and the award-winning neo-noir The Novel, winner of Best Picture at the 2025 NoHo CineFest. The company continues to develop a growing slate of original films, with an emphasis on compelling characters, cinematic storytelling, and unique perspectives.
